Your opt-in email list is your medium in order to contact potential clients and create a trusting relationship and connection with them. In your opt-in email, you may guarantee valuable and useful information or freebies and as some kind of payment, visitors need to provide you with their “email address”.

When you effectively deliver what you promised, your product is delivered on time, and it is a quality, (useful), product, then clients will begin to trust you.

When you deliver more than what clients have expected, or greater than what you have promised, not only will they trust you, but will really like you. This establishes the platform for the other significant transformation from a prospect client to a regular customer.

Here are a few list building guidelines:

1. Offer an exceptional gift or bonuses for clients” subscriptions. When audiences are attracted to the topic of your article or newsletter, they will readily sign up or register for the course or subscription that you are offering. However, more often than not, you have to prove to your prospects that indeed, you are truly sincere in establishing a good relationship will all of them.

(Meaning that you should provide solid, authentic and factual content from the very start; take note, good content and not advertisements. This can mean offering free courses or newsletters.)

2. Provide several “opt-in” boxes on your home page or sales letter. Preferably, place the box at the bottom, the middle and the top of your web page so that as your visitor reads on your ‘sales page”, and might be engrossed in the article you provided and will not notice your “opt-in box”; placing it in several positions there will be more possibility that he can see it and can type in their email address.

3. Your list must be viral-related. Create a free good quality, useful and information-packed article making certain that you display your website in the article and post it on forums and make it known that your article is free to anyone who wants it.

When I talk about email marketing, what comes to mind to some folks are the problems associated with it. But, like all marketing strategies, there are always some setbacks and potential up-hill battles to fight.

Email marketing is the use of the email to reach a wide range of potential customers or readers when offering useful content, products and services. Simply put, it is marketing via email. Email marketing is also welcomed by readers because it is a free way to gain knowledge from people who are experienced in the subject matter of the email subscription.

These emails often offer products and services that are specifically recommended by the people sending the emails out. Hopefully, these products have been used and found satisfactory, even excellent in what they will do for their reader.

Email marketing, has come a long way since the early days of a complete and absolute negative stigma of email marketing as spam; now people have the right to choose what they find useful and expect suitable content arriving into their in-boxes, this is known as optin email and double optin email.

When done correctly, email marketing is a give and take between author and reader. This develops into a relationship of trust, thus gaining customer loyalty and a long relationship.

It’s important to know the various rights and limitations of email marketing. All commercial email must be permission based marketing. Meaning the recipient has asked for the email by putting their contact information in a form, thus, requesting to be placed on the email list.

All commercial emails must contain an Opt-Out link so the reader can easily opt out of the list at any time.

All commercial email must contain the contact information of the author/sender of the email. Including, but not limited to: full Name, email address, physical address. Sometimes a Phone Number, Skype User Name, etc., are included.

Most commercial auto-responders insist on Double Optin for security reasons. This means that, not only does the recipient give their email address and sometimes name, but then they receive a confirmation email that contains a link that must be clicked to get any further contact from that email sender/provider.
